So excited to share my son’s room with y’all today! When my son was born, I had a vision in my head of what I wanted for his nursery and that was smokey blue walls, driftwood details & a peaceful space that reminded me of the ocean. That vision became a reality but after one year, we sold our house & purchased the current one that we are in now & I knew I wanted my son’s nursery to be identical to how it was in the old house!
Since my son is now 2, I did want to make his room a little more “toddler” and less “baby” so that’s when I decided I wanted to switch the sailboats for surfboards. My husband did the same square board & batten wall and painted it in the same beautiful smokey blue color. We also made 2 floating shelves to display his books. The shelves were a DIY my husband & I made and you can find the instructions on my instagram highlights but I also linked some down below for you.
Some other things that we added were the large “SURF” letters which are a Hobby Lobby find & they were the perfect touch! We also switched out the previous fringed rug for a round jute rug & I love the vibe it gave the room. The rug we purchased actually just sold out this week so I went ahead and linked 2 very similar ones that are equally stunning. And we added a little VW surfer bus to his dresser. Hope you love this room as much as I do!
